Unit 3, Hazelwood now relet by MEPC
In April 2012, Yorktel Corporation announced an acquisition of First Connections Ltd, to reinforce their position as one of the largest video conferencing service providers in their market.
First Connections were, at that time, based on the Tempus Business Centre in Basingstoke. BDT made an enquiry as to whether the change of ownership might have any bearing on future commercial property requirements, which is often the case following company acquisitions and sales.
Following Yorktel’s advice that they would be looking to upgrade and indeed expand, whilst also taking advantage of a lease expiry at Tempus, BDT “introduced” their requirement to Chineham Park in Basingstoke. The owners of Chineham, MEPC, then worked to encourage Yorktel to relocate into Unit 3, Hazelwood, a two storey self-contained office building of 8,470 (pictured below). A new lease was finally signed between the parties in April 2013, at a headline rent reflecting a strong £17.50 psf per annum, before incentives.
As a result of this “brokering”, Yorktel have secured new premises befitting of their office requirements, and MEPC have another good quality tenant on Chineham Park.
